Yak nose wobble

Last weekend I noticed that the spinner on my Yak54 was not running true. Previously I had not seen that problem. I also had the feeling that there seemed to be some flex in the engine mount. However at the time I could not discover any problem, until..

A message from the past..

I just got some messages from friends 'back home' (one of the many homes I guess) Pat Cuss is just about the most talented builder you'll ever meet. I've seen the progress of his Buldog from a distance. However I know that the pictures simply don't do justice to the quality of the build.

Morback F3P

So I gave you a few foam bits and said 'that's a Morback'

Question: What's a Morback??? (Not a Clik! that's for sure)
Answer: Don't know for sure, a funny looking thing, flies well actually, great successor to your Bug. Great intermediate before you buy a 'real plane'.

Competition

We held our first competion of the year today. If the weather is going to be the same for the rest of this year, then we have it sussed. We were supposed to start at 11 o'clock, but the 3 pilots that were there decided to wait and give the others a chance too. And a good thing they did, 11 people showed up, this was the best turnout yet in a long time.

Competition

The results of the First Indoor competition held on this island. One of the things that strike me as I look at the results is the small gap between the top 6/7 pilots. I'm sure the next competition is going to be so much fiercer. We now know our capabilities, and it only takes a few points to move up the scale. No doubt plans are being made, models (re)built and training sessions booked. You've probably seen Richards question on RC groups to give him a shout if you want to participate in the next event.

Building a vacuum system

Can I build a vacuum system for skinning wings and other operations?

Birth of Yet Another Bug..

Richard Kindly grew me another Bug. This one is to be a better Bug than the first Bug. Better as in slightly lighter, and since I now know that it's also supposed to have a CofG which falls between firewall and tailpost, things can only get better. (I did not think I'd need a CofG in a Bug, because we all know that bumblebees fly, even though every scientist says they can't) Ah well, that's evolution.

2.4Ghz, looking at it from technical perspective.

Just a page for now to collect some odds and ends.

This is an interesting link showing the basics of how you could convert almost any transmitter to 2.4Ghz operation. Don't worry about the electronics, just wanted you to see that it can be done.
